On behalf of the IAAF, I am pleased
to welcome you all to the Official Web Site of the 26th IAAF World Cross Country
Championships - Marrakech '98 .
Last year I enjoyed the privilege of
welcoming you on a virtual visit to my own home city of Turin and the Parco del Valentino;
this year we are delighted to be able to ask you to join us in the heart of another
magical city - Marrakech.
The Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation
will be our hosts and they have prepared a beautiful course against the majestic backdrop
of the Atlas Mountains.
On this, the second occasion that the World
Cross Country Championships have been held in Morocco, we can expect not only a wonderful
event - especially with the introduction of the new short course races opening the
Championships to a still wider range of great athletes - but also the pleasures of the
world-renowned hospitality of the Kingdom of Morocco. |
