Paris-Bercy Omnisports Stadium

The "Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy"
- Paris-Bercy Omnisports Stadium was built in
1984 by French architects Andrau, Parrat and
Gujan. The striking modern structure hosts a
multitude of events, ranging from classical music
concerts to rock bands in addition, of course, to
its vocation as a major indoor sporting venue.
Bercy has hosted such major
competitions as the World Championships in
Volley-Ball, Gymnastics and Boxing and is a
natural choice of stage for the IAAF World Indoor
Championships.
For the occasion, Bercy
will offer seats to some 5,000 spectators with
unrestricted views of the whole arena in addition
to the thousand or so members of the media,
officials and technical operators.
The 6th IAAF
World Indoor Championships will be a spectacular
sequel to numerous top class athletics
competitions which have been organised in Bercy
since the inaugural World Indoor Games of 1985.
