Satellite video conference

MONTE CARLO - Monaco - The presentation of the 6^th IAAF World Indoor Championships (Paris 7-9 March), will be made on Thursday 6 March during the course of a video conference via satellite between Paris-Bercy and Lausanne. The link up has been organised to enable the large number of journalists who will be in Lausanne for the IOC selection of the short list of 4-5 possible host cities for the 2004 Olympics to keep in touch with Paris (and vice-versa) and interview the numerous champions who will attend the conference.

The video-conference will be broadcast world wide between 12.15 p.m. and 12.45 p.m. and will be attended by IAAF President Dr Primo Nebiolo who will be in Lausanne in his capacity as co-president of the Roma 2004 Promotional Committee.

In view of the limited duration of the broadcast link, journalists wishing to ask questions of the athletes present in Paris - Hicham El Guerrouj (MAR), Ato Boldon (TRI), Haile Gebrselassie (ETH), Moses Kiptanui (KEN), Wilson Kipketer (DEN), Jean Galfione (FRA), Emma George (AUS), etc. - be they in Paris or Lausanne, are asked to put their names on the relevant lists which will be available at the accreditation desks. Journalists may ask questions of either site: i.e. Paris to Lausanne and Lausanne to Paris.

1. Journalists and television crews in Lausanne who wish to attend the video conference to be held on 6 March between 12.15 p.m. and 12.45 p.m. CET should kindly contact the IAAF Media Department by fax on:

2. In Lausanne, the video conference will be held in one of the salons of the Hotel Beau Rivage.
