7 March, 2001 - Lisbon, Portugal - The President of the IAAF, Lamine Diack, will hold the traditional pre-competition press conference tomorrow, Thursday 8 March, at midday.

During the press conference, which will take place at the main media hotel of the Championships, the Hotel Altis, 11 rue Castillo, Lisbon, President Diack will present the World Indoor Championships, which start on Friday 9 March in the Atlantico Pavilhão – Atlantic Pavilion, and be available to answer questions from accredited media.

Preview information from Lisbon can be found on the dedicated IAAF web site for the championships – http://www.iaaf.org/wic01/. Middle distance fans will be particularly interested to see the analysis of these events – from the 800m to 3000m by IAAF correspondent K. Ken Nakamura.

The IAAF web editorial team will be posting further previews in the coming hours and live reports and results from Lisbon will be posted throughout the Championships.
