This section is designed for those involved in the technical running of track & field competitions and the production of equipment used at athletics events.

The IAAF Handbook provides the Rules for athletic competitions.

The Certified Products lists are items that have been tested and approved under the guidelines of the IAAF Certification System.

For those who wish to submit their equipment or surfacing material for testing by the IAAF, see the Certification procedures.

For those involved in track construction, please look at the IAAF Performance Specifications for Synthetic Surfaced Athletics Tracks (Outdoor). The Track Survey Report form is also available for competition technical facilities where only the measurement of the track is certified to be fully in accordance with IAAF Rule 134.

Further information can be obtained from the IAAF Track and Field Facilities Manual that can be purchased from the IAAF for a cost of 100USD.

For athletic event organisers, should a World Record be broken at your event, see the World Record application forms to be submitted to the IAAF.

If you have any other queries of a technical nature, you may also email the IAAF Competitions Department.
