Set 3 world javelin records and one world junior record. Won 3 titles at EC (1990, 1994 and 1998) and two titles at CG (1990 and 1994) and a silver medal in 1998. Won WUG 1989 and 1991, ECp 1989 and 1997, EJ 1987. Won GP javelin 1989 (3rd overall). The only Briton in any athletics event to win an Olympic medal in three Games.
